Areas of Practice

Since joining the firm in 1988, Mr. Jones' practice has involved the representation of public and private employers in a broad spectrum of matters. He has successfully tried numerous labor and employment cases before juries in state and federal courts, and has appeared before many administrative agencies. Mr. Jones, a shareholder (partner), has extensive experience handling complex, high profile cases which receive extensive media coverage.

Professional Activities

Mr. Jones spends a significant amount of his time counseling employers and conducting management training on litigation avoidance, important legislative developments and current trends in labor and employment law. He is a frequent speaker at The Employer, an annual conference sponsored by Littler Mendelson.

Education

Mr. Jones attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, receiving the prestigious Order of Barristers Award for outstanding oral advocacy upon graduating in 1984. He received his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater in 1973. Prior to joining the firm in 1988, Mr. Jones was labor counsel for the Governor of California with the Department of Personnel Administration.
